Virginia Laverne Wooten passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at the age of 94. She is the mother of HPROA member Officer Gerald “Jerry” Cormier, last assigned to the Vehicular Crimes Division, retiring on September 22, 2018. She is also the grandmother of Police Officer Chase Cormier, assigned to the Air & Marine Division.

HPOPS Election Results

The results for the election of Directors for the Active and Retired positions, 
up for election this year, have been counted.
Trey Coleman has won the Active Officer position on the HPOPS Board of Directors.

There will be a runoff election for the Retired Officer 
Position, between Rodney Hill and Scott Sisco.
The ballots for the runoff election will be mailed out next week.

First of all, no one liked what happen in the 2016 legislative session but the truth is that HPOPS was told to fix the plan or the legislature would fix it in a way that we would not like. [More]

Bobby Haynes:(12-10-18 nf) We visited with Bobby today and he reported that on Nov. 3rd he fell in his kitchen and struck his head on the fridge. He was later hospitalized with serious head injury where a hole was drilled into his skull and a tube inserted to relieve fluid and pressure on his brain. He was in hospital for 9 days and in rehab for 20 days. He is now at home recovering. [More]

Lisa Kennedy: (10-31-18rh) We visited with Chuck Kennedy regarding how his wife Lisa was doing after her treatments for cancer.  He said that she completed her chemo treatments back in August, is back to work, and doing great.  He wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and support.

 Floyd Daigle:(11-3-18 nf) Sue Gaines reports that Asst. Chief Daigles was diagnosed with cancer of the liver this week. [More]
