I have a registered German Shepherd that I am willing to give a retired police officer. This dog is a beautiful red and black 1 year old female German Shepherd with an excellent pedigree. The reason I am writing to your association is because I rescued this dog about 6 months ago. She has been through 4 owners in her young life because no one has bothered to teach her basic obedience. She has a very sweet temperament and loves to play. We live on a ranch and thought we would be able to handle her and teach her some manners. However, she has very strong instincts and wants to chase the cattle. We have not been able to break her from this habit. We firmly believe that with the right training, this dog could be an asset to someone. We are way out of our league with her behavior problems, but want to find someone that has a good knowledge of German Shepherds to give her a good home.
