Retired Sergeant Ruben Davis passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. He was 61. Ruben joined Police Academy Class #67 on November 11, 1974. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on March 23, 1983. He retired while last assigned to the Southwest Division on May 10, 1996. After retirement he became the leader of Fort Bend Precinct 2 Constable’s Office for two decades. He is survived by his wife, Sharon. He was preceded in death by their 36-year-old daughter, Traneka, to cancer on December 31, 2014.

Memorial services are set for Oct. 29 to honor Fort Bend County Precinct 2 Constable Ruben Davis. He died Tuesday at 61 after a battle with bone cancer.
Services will be at The Fountain of Praise, 13950 Hillcroft. A three-hour viewing begins at 8 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m.
A repast will be at the Quail Run Community Center, 16748 Quail Park, in Missouri City.
Burial will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2426 Cullen Boulevard,
Pearland, Texas 77581.
Davis had a career in law enforcement that spanned four decades. He served as a Fort Bend constable since 1996. He also was retired from the Houston Police Department, where he was on the force for 21 years.
