Did I Mention?

The 2006 Surviving Spouses Luncheon

Did I mention, the very generous donation from Ron Carter Automotive Center - Alvin TX with special thanks to Mike Hall for underwriting this event?

Did I mention, how absolutely festive and colorful the tables looked with huge vases of tulips that Dorothy and Don Weaver of Brookhollow Florist designed?

Did I mention, each handmade fabric rose that was made  from a uniform shirt by Jackie Lee of Jj Alterations?  Jackie also provided the gift boxes.

Did I mention, the HPD Honor Guard presenting the colors and then Sergeant Cynthia Miller singing the national anthem?  Also, assisting in this assignment was Sergeant W.B. Johnson, Officers E. Byrd, T.E. Gerstle, R.A. Gonzalez, R. Sanchez and E. Williams.

Did I mention, the pocket charms with the recessed badge that were made by Chris Lang @ Max Lang Belts and Buckles and donated by Stefanie and Neal Leonard?

Did I mention, that  the tossed salad, roasted pork loin, green beans, rice timbale, and the hot dinner rolls were delicious? The staff at the Walden Yacht Club met every one of our demands and more.

Did I mention, the white and chocolate 35 pound two layer cake with the badge designed on the top that was made for 150 people by Nadine Moon of “Who Made the Cake!” and there were no leftovers?

Did I mention, the laughter that was generated by Texas Humorist Morris Eickenhorst with some being at the expense of his wife Linda and his brother (our very own) Ike?

Did I mention, that we have already received a generous donation from a very loving and supportive HPROA couple for next year and that approximately 125 attendees had a very fun and memorable luncheon and are waiting to do it all over again in 2007?

Did I mention and  thank Cathy Buckles for all the hard work  she puts into this event from the invitations, to the RSVP responses, to the sign in table?  Did I mention and thank Doug and Mae Bostock for procuring the yacht club and deciding on the menu?  Did I mention and thank  Ike and JoAnn Eickenhorst for sealing the deal on the entertainment?  Did I mention and thank Chuck and Dot Smith who head up the Entertainment Committee?  Did I mention that Neal and I enjoyed  sharing in this, from the heart, luncheon?

If you can take a moment, please  thank or patronize the businesses that are listed below that  sponsored the 2006 Surviving Spouses Luncheon.
